Avon Walk Breast Cancer
I lost my mom to breast cancer when she was near the age that I am now. This year, I wanted to truly celebrate her life and the life of every person who has struggled with this terrible disease. So before I tell you about my new release, I’d like to share my experience on Team Bodice Rippers.

Team Bodice Rippers consists of me, Tessa Dare, Leigh LaValle and Courtney Milan. With the help of our community, the romance community, we were able to raise over $10,000 for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer to help with research for finding a cure and for support for those living with breast cancer today. You can view our team page here.

I’m sending out a huge hug and giant-size thank you to each and every person who either made a direct donation to our team, or purchased our charity anthology, THREE WEDDINGS AND A MURDER. The anthology was a limited edition, and all profits went directly to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. For those of you who missed the anthology, the individual novellas will be available from each author at some point in the future. You can check our websites for information.

In addition to fundraising for the Avon Walk we…walked!

With Leigh LaValle cheering us on from her nursery with her brand new infant in her arms, Tessa, Courtney and I set out on a wonderful journey. Our walk took place Sept. 22 of this year in Santa Barbara California.

Along the way we made some amazing friends, like these ladies, Team Blister Sisters.

Every step of the way -and there were a heck of a lot of steps on this two-day journey- we were cheered and encouraged by men with pink beards, jokesters, and even puppies in pink tutus. We slept in pink tents…even our blisters were pink!

Was it hard? I’d be lying if I said otherwise. In fact one member of our team, Courtney Milan, is still recovering from an injury she sustained on the walk. But walking for two days is nothing compared to living with breast cancer, and I can’t think of a more wonderful journey than the one I shared with the fantastic men and women who were part of the Avon Walk. So if you are wondering if you can make a difference, the answer is yes! You can!
